Editing Delta Tables in Microsoft Fabric Using Notebooks

In this video, I’ll walk you through how to edit Delta tables in Microsoft Fabric using Notebooks. We’ll cover adding columns, inserting and updating rows, and creating views. Let’s dive in!

Adding Columns:
Need to add a new column to your Delta table? It’s a breeze with Notebooks. Just a few commands, and you’re set.

Inserting/Updating Rows:
Keeping your data fresh is crucial. With Notebooks, you can easily insert new rows or update existing ones in your Delta table.

Creating Views:
You can create views in a Notebook to organize and query your data. But here’s the catch—these views won’t show up in the SQL End Point or the semantic model.

The Bottom Line

Notebooks are powerful for editing Delta tables in Microsoft Fabric, but remember, views created this way aren’t available in the semantic model. Keep this in mind when planning your data workflows!
